At the Marty's Place Howl-O-Ween Family Fest  on Sunday, October 22, 2017, our Senior Dog Sanctuary celebrated its two-year operational anniversary in the most wonderful way -- with our neighbors, friends and family!   The Howl-O-Ween Family Fest was a fun-filled event, with activities going on all day long. Months of preparation and the contributions of dozens of volunteers went into planning the event, selling raffle tickets, getting the word out and then, of course, working the event and helping in the sanctuary. It all came together to make the day a fabulous success.

Some highlights:

  • 300 people attended, including many who got to know us and about the Marty’s Place mission for the first time.
  • There were more than 30 dogs entered in the costume contest.
  • Raffle ticket sales totaled almost $6,000.
  • Key activities stood out in raising money for our resident dog care, including the Program Booklet, the Ruff Mudder course, swim sessions, photo sessions and merchandise sales.
  • 50-plus people took tours of our sanctuary, giving them a better appreciation of all that the staff and volunteers do for our resident dogs.
  • We achieved our $5,000 Sasha’s Fund goal, so the next step is scheduling her surgery!
Everyone, including our residents, had a great time!
