Our First Adoption
Quincy, one of our first residents, has found his forever home with Mark. They had formed a special bond during Quincy's stay at Marty's Place, and it seemed only a matter of time until that bond would become permanent. Quincy still comes to visit his sanctuary
family on most weekends and is absolutely loving life.

Marty's Place Outreach
In May of 2016, Marty's Place began reaching out to our neighbors and fellow animal enthusiasts. We've introduced ourselves, our dogs and our mission at various fairs and festivals, outside area businesses, in a local newspaper and on facebook. There are more events and additional activities in the works. Please keep an eye on our upcoming events listings for information on where we'll be.

Girl Scouts Show Support for Senior Dogs
Girl Scouts from Troop 40495 dropped off a donation of money they'd raised at a 5K race and stayed for a visit with some of our residents, including Quincy, who clearly enjoyed the attention.
Thanks, Girls! Your generosity is truly appreciated.

Donor Doubles the Impact of Donations
An individual who shares our compassion for senior dogs will be matching dollar for dollar all donations made to Marty’s Place before midnight on December 31st. This means every dollar you gave during that time period will go twice as far towards providing care and a safe, loving, protected environment for senior dogs.

Status Update, October/November 2015
Our experiences with Marty and other senior dogs inspired us to establish Marty’s Place Senior Dog Sanctuary.
After an extensive search, we found property in Upper Freehold Township, NJ. Construction began late in the summer of 2014.
The sanctuary building and pool enclosure -- inside and out -- were completed at the end of September 2015; just in time for our Open House!
On Saturday, Oct 3, 2015, more than 150 people stopped by to tour our facilities and learn about our services. We received many thoughtful and generous donations of items our resident dogs will need or enjoy, and many inquiries about future volunteer service as well.
Our first orientation sessions for Marty's Place volunteers took place on October 24th and 25th. Another session is scheduled for November 7th, with more to come. We're thrilled, and truly appreciative, to have such a great group of dog-loving volunteers step up to work with our residents. If you would like to learn about becoming a Marty's Place volunteer or submit an online application, please visit our VOLUNTEER page.
And Finally... Yes, Marty’s Place Senior Dog Sanctuary is officially open! Our first residents arrived the weekend of Oct 29, 30 and 31. The swim program for non-resident dogs got underway Monday, Oct 26th.
