More About . . .

A 14-year-old Pug/Chihauhua mix, Buster came to Marty’s Place in March 2016, bringing a heaping dose of sweetness (and a good many chuckles) to our growing family.  We love his "workout" video!

More About - Buster

You can show your support for Buster and the other senior dogs residing at Marty’s Place through an annual or monthly sponsorship, a one-time donation, a pet store gift card or an in-kind contribution of supplies.

We can always use paper towels, disinfecting wipes, kitchen trash bags, and of course, “poop” bags.

More on how to get involved

Buster

After a visit to the vet and some dental work, Buster quickly settled into Sanctuary life.  In short order, this lovable fellow had befriended all the residents and won the heart of every volunteer he met.

At 31 pounds, Buster was overweight and as a result, had somewhat limited mobility. But that didn’t stop him from following our volunteers from place to place, wanting to be a part of everything.

He earned the nickname “Chug” for his slow, steady pace while walking from one wing to the other, snorting all the way!

Despite the obvious effort it took, during his first week at the sanctuary, Buster walked continuously from one end of the east wing to the other - and out in his play yard as well.  This became known as “Buster’s weight loss program” after he walked off a whole pound that week!

Buster now weighs 27 pounds (a 10% weight loss).  And he continues to gain mobility and flexibility.  He even slipped out of his harness and had to be fitted with a smaller one!

If you haven’t yet, please check out Buster’s video, showing off his newfound exercise capabilities. It’s sure to give you a laugh for the day!
