Volunteer

Volunteering at Marty’s Place is an excellent way for individual animal lovers and service-minded groups to get actively involved in our work with senior dogs.

Although Marty’s Place has a small core staff of employees, our overall success and the success of our day-to-day activities will depend on the strength and assistance of volunteers. The importance of volunteers to the sanctuary and especially to the well-being of the dogs who live there cannot be overstated.

Volunteer assistance is needed in several areas

Activities – walking dogs, exercising, socializing or playing with them.
Sanctuary Operations –cleaning dog rooms, doing laundry, grounds-keeping, assist with meal time.
Program Support – office work, fundraising, marketing, communications, outreach events

Without a doubt, any time you devote or service you provide will be greatly appreciated by our residents.

Become a Marty's Place Volunteer

The first step in our volunteer process is to complete our application. It can be accessed below and submitted online, via email or regular mail.

Once your application is received, you will be notified of upcoming orientations and have the opportunity to register for a session.

All volunteers must attend an orientation session before beginning to work in the sanctuary. Orientations are held bi-monthly.

Adults (over 18)

Please use the button below to submit an online application or click the document link to print a form to fill out and mail in.

Online Application

Ages 14 to 18

Our youth program is focused on the ages 14 -18.  Our youth volunteers must volunteer along with a parent or other adult 18+ years.

Volunteering at Marty’s Place can be a great community service project for high school or college students, service clubs or other groups.

If you would like more information on our youth program or an application, or if you represent a group that would like to volunteer together (scout troop, service club, etc), please contact the sanctuary by email at info@martysplace.org.
