“We didn’t want a puppy that would require a lot of training with all their energy and exercise needs,” said Jean Bryer, who with her boyfriend, Joe, adopted 9-year-old Bella from Marty’s Place. “We wanted a dog that was happy to just sit on the couch with us. Also important to us was giving an elderly dog a loving home in their golden years! They deserve that.”

That includes background, behaviors, and any health-related concerns before bringing your new canine companion home. Some older dogs may require veterinary care that you should be willing to continue. All dogs need time to adjust to new homes.
